Role Overview:

Are you a mechanical engineering expert with a knack for healthcare projects and a flair for managing complex contracts? Do you thrive in the thick of project delivery, balancing technical acumen with commercial savvy? If so, our Auckland-based Tier 1 consultancy is looking for you.

As a Healthcare Project Manager, you'll be the linchpin in delivering cutting-edge healthcare facilities, leveraging your mechanical engineering expertise to navigate intricate HVAC systems and boilers. Your role will extend beyond conventional project management, requiring you to engage deeply with NZS Construction contracts and contractor management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Delivery Excellence: Lead and oversee the delivery phase of healthcare projects, ensuring seamless integration of mechanical engineering elements with project goals. Your expertise in air handling and boilers will be crucial in managing technical risks and ensuring operational excellence.

  • Contract Management Mastery: Apply your profound knowledge of NZS Construction contracts to navigate and manage the complexities of contractor relationships. Your experience on the contractor side will be an asset in understanding and mitigating potential contractual issues.

  • Technical and Commercial Insight: Use your mechanical engineering background to foresee and address potential risks in project delivery. Your role will involve balancing technical requirements with commercial considerations, ensuring projects remain on track and within budget.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution. Your ability to manage diverse stakeholder expectations and drive consensus will be vital for project success.

  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage risks associated with the mechanical aspects of projects. Your technical knowledge will help you implement effective mitigation strategies and ensure project resilience.

Key Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering Background: Proven experience in mechanical engineering, particularly with air handling systems and boilers, is essential. This role demands a deep understanding of mechanical systems within a healthcare context.

  • Contract Management Expertise: Experience managing projects under NZS Construction contracts is highly valued. Your ability to navigate these contracts and manage contractors effectively will set you apart.

  • Project Delivery Experience: Demonstrated experience in delivering complex projects, with a strong focus on technical and commercial aspects. Previous roles should reflect your capability in managing the delivery phase of healthcare projects.

  • Contractor Side Experience: Experience working on the contractor side will be advantageous, providing you with insights into contractor management and contractual intricacies.

  • Professional Level: We are seeking candidates at Associate Level 2 or 3, but exceptional Senior-level candidates with the relevant experience will also be considered.
