Their services including options for onsite and offsite data backup & protection, standby office & IT infrastructure, On demand networking, Cloud connection, recovery testing, business continuity consulting, data Centre hosting and hosted infrastructure-as-a-service.

About the role 

As a Platform Engineer, you will be part of a team involved in making sure the services within virtualization environment are functioning properly through successful performance and coordination of activities involving triage/troubleshooting, patching, and software implementations/upgrades just to name a few. If you love making everything run smoothly and knowing your work makes the business succeed, then this is the opportunity for you. Responsibilities 
  • Plan and execute systems lifecycle activities for the virtualization environments such as upgrades, patching, capacity management, and technology augmentation
  • Apply in-depth technical expertise to solve complex technical problems and develop solutions using judgment in determining methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
  • Working closely with all levels of IT to coordinate the service support and delivery of virtualization technologies with multiple teams from application development to infrastructure.
  • Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
  • Willingness to mentor and train junior level resources.
What do you need?
  • You have at least 5 years of experience with VMware engineering.
  • Experienced working with VMware vSphere, NSX, VMware Cloud Director, vCenter and ESXI
  • Linux and Oracle experience is an advantage
  • Solid understanding of system automation is a big bonus
  • To be technically curious with an appetite to learn and master emerging technologies.
  • Strong understanding of networking including routing, subnets, and diagnostics
  • ITIL
  • Storage design, build and support experience (SAN, NAS and Object storage)
