About the role As a Platform Engineer, you will be part of a team involved in making sure the services within virtualization environment are functioning properly through successful performance and coordination of activities involving triage/troubleshooting, patching, and software implementations/upgrades just to name a few. Responsibilities - Plan and execute systems lifecycle activities for the virtualization environments such as upgrades, patching, capacity management, and technology augmentation
- Apply in-depth technical expertise to solve complex technical problems and develop solutions using judgment in determining methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
- Working closely with all levels of IT to coordinate the service support and delivery of virtualization technologies with multiple teams from application development to infrastructure.
- Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
- Willingness to mentor and train junior level resources.
What do you need?- You have at least 5 years of experience with VMware engineering.
- Experienced working with VMware vSphere, NSX, VMware Cloud Director, vCenter and ESXI
- Linux and Oracle experience is an advantage
- Solid understanding of system automation is a big bonus
- To be technically curious with an appetite to learn and master emerging technologies.
- Strong understanding of networking including routing, subnets, and diagnostics
- ITIL
- Storage design, build and support experience (SAN, NAS and Object storage)
