Programme Manager – Data Centre
 
Lead a programme for the deployment of multiple large data centres throughout New Zealand.  You will be a leader who enjoys hands-on leadership where you drive the delivery of outcomes through a full emersion approach.  This fulltime role involves leading a team of 6-12 highly skilled professionals.
 
Responsibilities

  1. Formulate, organize and monitor inter-connected projects
  2. Lead the development of delivery strategies and refinement of objectives
  3. Coordinate cross-project activities ensuring effective interworking and proactive dialogue
  4. Manage the performance of project managers, suppliers and other staff
  5. Develop and control deadlines, budgets and activities for the programme in consultation with the Delivery PMO
  6. Ensure and drive change, risk and resource management
  7. Assume responsibility for the program’s people and vendors
  8. Assess program performance and aim to maximize ROI
  9. Resolve projects’ higher scope issues in consultation with the business owner, senior responsible owner and other key stakeholders
  10. Prepare reporting and ensure reporting is timely and accurate
 
Requirements and skills

  1. Proven experience as a Programme Manager for a minimum of ten years
  2. Some experience in delivering civil construction is necessary
  3. Extensive experience managing senior stakeholders (such as Executive, CXX and business leaders)
  4. A track-record of resolving challenges with deploying complex infrastructure is mandatory
  5. Thorough understanding of project/programme management techniques and methods, including governance boards.
  6. Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
  7. Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of programme/project management software is a strong advantage
  8. Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
  9. You thrive in a dynamic environment
  10. Excellent communication skills
  11. Excellent problem-solving ability
This role isn’t for you if:

  1. You are looking for a part time role or flexible hours
  2. You don’t want to commit potentially to a three year journey
  3. You have never delivered a programme with a capital value over $50M
  4. You cant handle a high level of uncertainty where the plan can change
  5. You don’t have a track record in delivering highly complex initiatives that involve an element of civil construction
  6. You cant work at an executive level and at the frontline – ensuring effective communication and empowerment
