About the role To be successful in this role, you will be a leader who is passionate about web
technologies, has an interest in eCommerce and is excited to grow their business while contributing to the success of their partners. They're looking for someone that is passionate about delivering market-leading digital experiences for their clients. You will be a strong advocate of excellent development practices and always look to improve our standards and technical documentation. As a subject matter expert, you will be comfortable being that go-to person and you will have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, feeling very comfortable talking through work with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities - Be the go-to technical expert for Shopify and BigCommerce technical capabilities as well as the broader ecosystem of eCommerce applications
- Work closely with your Development Team to optimise the applications to ensure best experience and to provide high quality solutions ensuring robustness, usability and general reliability by following best practices including well documented code to ensure maintainability.
- Continually discover, evaluate and implement new technologies to maximise development efficiency.
- Provide escalation support, coaching and mentoring to other team members, individually and collectively to improve their skills, understand the strategy, refine ways of working, and set internal customer expectations.
- Be accountable for the accuracy of developer time and cost estimates and contribute to solutions
What you need?- Detailed knowledge and understanding of Shopify and BigCommerce SaaS platforms including building and launching stores, configuring third-party apps and migrating data.
- Min of 5 years of similar experience ideally in agency space.
- Have excellent organisational, communication, and written skills. You must be able to talk about technology intelligently and passionately to all levels of an organisation including Developers, Architects, and senior management (technical and non-technical)
- 5 years experience in web development using PHP, Python or Java
- MySQL database experience
- HTML, CSS, jQuery, DHTML/JavaScript development experience
- Jira and Agile development methodology
