About the role 
The Vulnerability Management Engineer role functions as a technical expert in the areas of vulnerability assessment, response/treatment, and remediation. The role will be responsible for assessing the risk, facilitating a timely response and appropriate treatment, and ensuring remediation through escalation processes and reporting. It requires the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, relay the importance of vulnerability management activities, the risks presented by findings, and potential remediation actions. This role requires a working knowledge of security and network protocols, system and network administration, and configuration management.
The Vulnerability Management Engineer will also be adept at deploying vulnerability assessment tools and enhancing the vulnerability management service through the development of automation solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans and assessments for clients, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automation scripts to streamline vulnerability remediation and tracking processes.
  • Prepare detailed and actionable reports on security vulnerabilities, including risk assessments and recommendations for improving clients' security posture.
  • Present vulnerability findings and recommendations to clients in a clear and professional manner, addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement strategies for mitigating identified vulnerabilities and enhancing overall security.
  • Stay updated on the latest vulnerabilities, threats, and security trends to provide informed recommendations and maintain effective protection measures.
  • Assist with the configuration and deployment of vulnerability assessment tools and support ongoing improvements to the vulnerability management service.
What you need?
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of either systems or infrastructure engineering experience 
  • Ability to write and manage automation scripts using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline remediation and tracking processes.
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, including TCP/IP, firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and encryption.
  • Understanding of network and system administration, including experience with configuring and managing network devices, servers, and applications.
  • Solid experience working with vulnerability scanning tools ideally with Tenable or Qualys
  • Exceptional communication skills and have a customer centric approach 
  • A keen interest in cyber security, emerging threats, vulnerabilities and security technologies 
  • Motivated, coachable and analytical mindset.
